Economic Impact

Great Salt Lake Minerals has 350 employees whose families live, work, play and go to school in Ogden and nearby areas. Our employees, vendors, suppliers and contractors contribute more than $65 million per year to the economy of Ogden, Weber County, and Utah.

In addition to planning new solar evaporation ponds, GSL is investing approximately $200 million in new equipment and facility improvements to increase production within our existing footprint. Due to this investment, we expect to add 50 jobs over the next several years, paying well above the Weber County average salary.

The company pays royalties to the state for existing leases. New evaporation ponds are estimated to provide the state with more than $100 million in additional royalties over 20 years, and create 70 additional full-time jobs.
